We had a great time in Seattle! Spencer had a great meet. We are so excited about her success at the Junior Olympic National Invitational Tournament!!!

We started on vault. Spencer has struggled on vault, but is really coming along. Her competition vaults were not quite as big as we see in practice, but we were pleased. S he did a good layout scoring a 9.125. We were happy!!! Scores are tight at Nationals and I think that was her highest score all year on vault. That just goes to show you that she’s improving so much on vault. To bars…

I think I was much more nervous on bars than Spencer. I knew she could compete a very good routine and I just wanted her to hit so bad!!! Well, she did!!!! She had a 9.9 start value for the first time this season. YEA!!!! That is what we were going for. She did have one short handstand (that scared me to death), but she pulled her skills out of it pretty clean!!!! Scores were SUPER tight on bars. She scored an 8.60 and placed 7th on bars!

After bars both Spencer and I were so relaxed and confident. She was ready to rock beam and floor. She was first up on beam. She rocked! Only one small fidget on her turn and one step on her dismount. It was a very solid pretty routine. She scored a 9.35 placing 2nd!! Woo hoo!!!!!!! I’m so proud.

Spencer had a nice floor routine - beautiful dance, big tumbling, huge double pike, clean landings….. what a great ending to a great competition. She scored a 9.325. She placed 4th on floor.

Spencer placed 4th all around! We are proud and excited. We are already looking forward to next year. Nationals are in Long Beach, CA. We will be there! Go Spencer!!!!!
