Emily had an excellent meet today!!!!! I am so proud. We started on beam. Emily’s routine had a few wobbles, but it was good. She didn’t have any major deductions and scored an 8.95. Scores are tight at Westerns, so we were pleased.

Floor was our next event. Her routine was awesome! All 3 tumbling passes were so high and clean. Emily’s dance was big and she performed it like a champion. She scored a 9.30 and placed 10th on floor.

Emily was first up on vault. Her first vault was good, but not as good as we see at practice. It scored a 8.95. Her second vault was BIG! It was the just like the big vaults we see at practice. It was the best vault she competed all year. She scored a 9.175. We were happy!!!

Our last event was bars. Emily has hit her feet on the floor on her straddle back at all season. This past week she started doing them much better in the gym and didn’t hit her feet on all of them. Last week she also started pulling into the bar on her double back dismount (this means she was close to hitting the bar). We had 2 skills to be slightly nervous about on bars. It was no shocker to me that she rocked her routine. Emily is such a stud! She held her feet up on her straddle back for the first time all season and she rocked her double back. What a great routine!!! She scored a 9.25.

Emily placed 11th all around. That is so awesome! At Westerns you compete against girls from 25 states! She is the 11th best! I’m so proud.

Region 3, our Region, won the team title!!!! Emily’s scores counted towards the team win on all 4 events.

What a great weekend! WAY TO GO EMILY!!!!!
