OPTIONAL TEAM INFO

***OPTIONAL TEAM TRAINING TIMES NEXT WEEK***Next week is our “rest week” in our training plan.  We will spend less time on conditioning and would like to "rest" the girls a little bit, so the girls optional team practice will end at 7:30 next Tuesday and Thursday.  Wednesday and Friday's times will still be 4:15-7:15.

Next weeks optional team schedule:

Monday – 8:30-1:00
Tuesday – 4:15-7:30

Thursday – 4:15-7:30
Friday – 4:15-7:15
Saturday - 9:00-12:00*

*Saturday's practice is only for the girls who normally train on Saturdays. We moved it one hour earlier for the parade. There is more info below.

Season will be here before we know it! I hear the girls counting down daily… I think I heard them say there are less than 100 days until our first meet. We've had an excellent week of training. Lots of new skills and improved skills. So exciting!!!!! WOW!!! Go Achievers!!!

*** FLOOR DANCE INFO***
Dance and the presentation of our routines is a HUGE part of our scores on beam and floor. Lisa Woody choreographs our routines then, like all routines, it takes a lot of work to fine tune the dance and make sure each part looks great. The judges have .30 tenths that they can deduct for lack of presentation. They can also deduct for quality of movement, quality of expression, poor relationship to the music…. One of our goals this year is to do what we can do get very little or no deduction on the dance of our routines.

Great News! We have hired someone to help us clean up and perfect our dance. Tiffany Chandler is an amazing coach, choreographer and can really fine tune routines. I would like for each optional athlete do schedule at least one time with her before our season starts. I highly suggest our level 8-10s work with Tiffany 1-2 times before season, again 1-2 times before State or Regionals. Donny, Chrissy and I are extremely excited to add this to our program. We really believe it’s going to be a key ingredient to reaching our goals.

She charges $50 an hour. You will pay Tiffany directly the day of the dance private. I will send a list of dates and times for you soon.

***JUDGES CRITIQUE***
We have two judges coming in to critique our routines on Friday, December 4 and Friday, December 11. We will do two events each day. The cost will be $25. I originally put $30 on the meet fees due sheet, but it was lowered to $25.

***PARADE***
We were asked to be in the UNT parade next Saturday, October 17 at 1pm. Woo hoo!!!! How awesome and fun. We will have to meet at the parade before then. I will get you more info next week. The kids will LOVE this!!!! I hope they can all attend. Nothing is cooler than walking in a parade ON YOUR HANDS! Hee hee
